Forward to a little breathing time now that the LA store opening has beautifully passed, forward to another new Odd Molly store opening in Copenhagen coming oh-so shortly (more on this later), forward to... well... just enjoying the moment and taking it all in.
When I am taking such moments for myselves, there is nothing sweeter than tuning in to that totally perfect song. You know, the one that sends you to a faraway place, opening your mind and taking you there.
So for all you music-lovers, I have teamed up with my lovely friend Markus Bergkvist from Stockholm's Music Super Circus to put together a dream mixtape just for you.
Markus is the world-class magician who sets the Odd Molly runway shows to music and is madly skilled beyond belief. He is also the musical stylist for the Molly-stores, bringing you the latest, most interesting, most eclectic sounds from A to Z. I am super proud and thankful to know him and now you get to share in the treat.

First, we hit you up with Markus' top modern/currents. Next, we send you the retro songs that are playing in our heads... then you decide which line-up wins, yes?
Markus leads the way and we surely follow...
2. PEARLS / DUTCH
3. NEIGHBOR DOWN THE HALL / BENJI HUGHES
You gotta love a man who sounds like this, but looks like this:
A lovely, just lovely, outfit including not least former Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti.
You gotta love when basically an entire national scene of music teams up under one name!
7. KEEP THE LIGHTS ON / WAVE MACHINES
UK soft pop that sends you thinking of the UK 80's where this kind of soft pop was invented. http://www.wavemachines.co.uk
8. LLOYD, I'M READY TO BE HEARTBROKEN / CAMERA OBSCURA
Scottish superstars deserve to be on this list. Not least because you can actually understand what they are saying!
Thank you Markus!! Our hats off to you!

My personal favourite guest of the evening, the terribly inspiring Heidi Klum, talks about why she loves Odd Molly. Plus, many more shots for you below...

And the night began Friday with a whole lot of love at 104 S. Robertson Blvd, starting at 7pm. Odd Molly officially opens the night to a packed crowd while some of our very favourite Mollies stopped by to wish us well. What a gorgeous night was had by all. I am still quite happily reeling...
This one from the night before the crowds descended. Below, your first batch of photos... many, many more to come! * photo courtesy of Kenneth Johansson

Helena Christensen will be the hostess for the evening with music from the band Little Joy (includes Fabrizio Moretti - if you are like me, you are also a very big fan of The Strokes).
Sample their sound at www.myspace.com/littlejoymusic
But, what to wear? Perhaps some vintage pieces, layered just-so? Or go with my top well-worn pieces from this Spring - almost black silk camisole with crochet-by-hand vest, leggings and high heeled johdpur boots? Suggestions?? Decisions, decisions...
For those of you who have had the good fortune to have visited Odd Molly's crown jewel Concept Store in Stockholm, lucky you!
We do hope you will all come visit us soon at Humlegardsgatan (in central Stockholm) to appreciate the latest collections, the wall of super-vintage doors and the loveliest hot pink tufted velvet chair in the world. For this, you can thank the beautifully talented Helena R. who has worked tirelessly alongside Karin, Per and the Odd Molly head office team to breathe life into this spectacular retail dream.
(if you are curious about the first image at top here, those are amazing swatches of Karin's select fabrics stretched lovingly along the outside awning of 104 S. Robertson Blvd)
Post-Opening pics>>> coming soon...
