Give Love / I'm with Freedom

As we count down to beautiful holidays, we invite you to join us in Stockholm's Old Town, Gamla Stan, at the Christmas Fair (running this year all the way up to December 23).

Pick up some glogg (lovely mulled wine) then browse the stalls on Stortorget for local hand-crafts, gifts and foods... and give love, always.

Kram!

Karin, please meet Tilda

I just received pictures of this beautiful handmade Odd Molly doll from "Dulce" in Barcelona.

.

Dulce's doll's name is Tilda and the creation was inspired by our very own Karin dolls. Dulce spotted an original Karin doll in a Spanish boutique carrying our collections and - like us all - she adored her immediately.

Thank you once again, Chris, and thank you Dulce!

{ My personal Karin doll, quite pleased to be pictured below in her very own photoshoot }

This Christmas, Give Her a Break / Molly-Outlet Update

The holiday season is here and we have gorgeous Molly throughout the Freeport outlet store.. so do make sure you pop by for a visit!
.
If you have not yet been, we are in Kungsbacka, just South of Gothenburg alongside some 60+ shops including Noa Noa, Acne, Levi's, Wesc and soooo many more.

.

P.S. With these pictures here, I am reaching back and remembering my very favourite Odd Molly give-away ever. She was a hand-painted Russian doll made of feather-light wood and encompassed everything a woman is and can be.
.
That is to say, she was many-layered and beautiful, imperfectly unique, changeable, filled with colour and, well, utterly spell-binding.
.
As you can see @ top, she was also the logo for our Fall 2007 collections... and possibly my own little personal heroine, too.
.
In love, Meredith

FWF / Proudly Ethical Production

Today we take a moment to recognize our partner in ethical business, the Fair Wear Foundation.

Operating ethically responsible production has always been important for the Odd Molly/Post Fire Dew team.

We wanted, for some time, to partner with an organization to further our commitment to acting socially and environmentally responsibly in our factories.

After exploring all available partners, Fair Wear stood out and in June 2009 (after an IN-DEPTH audit!) we became a fully approved member.

Now, we stand alongside such responsible member brands as Gsus, Acne, J. Lindberg and Filippa K... making a statement together in the textile industry for something bigger, something that makes us very proud. That is, to be bringing health, safety and security to the good people who work so hard to give our beautiful clothing life.

The FWF actively operates to protect eight key Codes among its members, based on the internationally recognized standards set out in the UN's Declaration on Human Rights.

The Foundation is continually inspecting and auditing its partner members to ensure they are strictly complying in all ways with FWF's Code of Labour Practices:

1) Employment is freely chosen
2) No discrimination in employment practices
3) No exploitation of child labour
4) Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
5) Minimum payment of a "living wage"
6) Working hours will comply with acceptable standards, no excessive work shifts
7) Mandatory safe and healthy workplace conditions
8) Right to legally-binding work relationships in accordance to all labour and social security laws

Here, we recognize that clothing is not only about price or marketing or design, but also about the quality of production behind each and every garment.

And I hope this is as important to you as it is to us.

Post Fire Dew / Welcome to the Family

Some of you may have already met our sister brand (brother brand?), post fire dew.

I'm happy to report that sales of our very first Autumn-Winter2010 menswear collection have far surpassed even our highest expectations with some stores placing re-orders after only a few days of having the new styles on their shelves.
.
PFD was the brain child of Odd Molly Creative Director, Per, and was brought to design-life by Ylva Liljefors while also incorporating collaborations with unique artists along the way.
.
This season, for example, Ylva and Per bring in the many talents of Swedish artist Mattias Olsson - a graphic artist who works in all mediums from paint to charcoal/graphite to tattoo design. Mattias' art is featured in custom linings in the Post Fire Dew line.
.
First, a still from the recent SS2011 Runway Show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm.

And a few selections from the AW2010 range...

Will keep you posted here on latest news + learn more @ www.postfiredew.com or contact the post fire dew desk at men@postfiredew.com
